Mary Jo was born October 22, 1948, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of John and Hazel Dunwoody Madonia.
She was employed as an administrative clerk with CWLP for 35 years. Mary Jo was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and was a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Roman Culture Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America #148. Mary Jo loved playing BINGO.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Jo was survived by many cousins who warmly remember her loving, kind, and gentle presence and the many years she was “Santa’s Helper” to the Nestler gang.
Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Manuel P. Cuizon, C.R.S., PhD.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
