Mark R. Vance, 58, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 22, 1955 in Springfield to Charles E. and Sandra L. Satterlee Vance and they survive.
Mr. Vance is also survived by two daughters: Tracy (Scott) Marshall and Sumer (Steven) Phillips both of Springfield, one aunt Linda Meierhans of Pacific, MO., one uncle John (Chyrs) Satterlee of Camarillo, CA., his best friend Harold Christianson and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Frances Satterlee and Maurine McNutt.
Mark was a meat cutter in Springfield for over twenty years working at Humphrey’s Market and Eagle Foods. He was active in various youth baseball programs as a coach and he was a huge fan of the St. Louis Blues, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Fighting Illini. Mark was an avid bowler and member of the Greater Springfield Bowling Association and he enjoyed camping and fishing. Through coaching and participating in bowling leagues Mark made many friends over the years but above all he cherished the time he spent with his family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday September 22, 2014 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will meet friends from noon until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
