Margaret L. Kunz, 92, of Springfield, died at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. John's Hospice. Margaret was born December 23, 1922 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Juhasz Lesko. She married Arthur A. Kunz, Sr. on February 17, 1945; he preceded her in death on July 6, 1991. Margaret began working for Sangamon Ordnance in Illiopolis during WWII and later was employed as a custodian for 20 years, until her retirement in 1984, from George Washington Middle School. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Greg Kunz; one grandson; and thirteen siblings. She is survived by her children, Arthur A. (wife, Debbie) Kunz, Jr. of Springfield, Raymond (wife, Carol) Kunz of Santa Clarita, CA, Frank (wife, Glenda) Kunz of Springfield, Diane (husband, Dave) Johnson of Middletown, Jeff (wife, Janice) Kunz of Chatham, and John (wife, Susan) Kunz of Springfield; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev. Clint Honkomp, O.P., celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
