Kathleen E. Gordon

Kathleen E. Gordon, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on March 27, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to William L. Guinan and Geraldine Greene Guinan.

Mrs. Gordon is survived by her two daughters: Deborah K. (Robert) DalSanto of Loveland Ohio, and Melinda A. Riddle of Springfield, three grandchildren: Matthew R. (Ellen G. Rheaume) DalSanto and Kaitlyn E. DalSanto both of Chicago and Connor C. Riddle of Champaign, two nephews: Patrick and Tim Guinan, one great nephew: Michael Guinan, and two great nieces: Payton and Jordan Guinan. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert P. Guinan.

Kathleen was a graduate of Springfield High School and was involved with the Beaux Arts Ball. She worked for the Springfield Democratic Party Headquarters, the Illinois Secretary of State, and retired from the Illinois State Board of Education after over twenty years of service. Mrs. Gordon was a member of the the DAR, and also a member and supporter of Adopt-A-Pet and the Animal Protective League. Kathleen always put her daughters and family first and they will forever be grateful.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
