Greg was born November 17, 1947, in St. Clair, IL, the son of James A. and Jane E. Yates Reynolds. He married Sandra Kay Johnston on August 11, 1973, in Greenville, IL.
Greg graduated from Dupo High School in 1965 and earned his bachelor’s degree from SIUE. He then went on to earn his master’s degree at Sangamon State and his doctorate at SIUC. Greg was employed with several different schools throughout his life. He was superintendent at CUSD-16, principal and superintendent at CUSD-200, principal at Industry, IL, and taught music at Palmyra Northwestern. Greg was also employed as a professor at SIUE and UIS. He worked at Ray and Associates doing executive searches. Greg was a member of Jerome United Methodist Church, Toastmasters, and volunteered at ALPLM and the Lincoln Home. He enjoyed art, photography, music, history, and playing the clarinet and sax.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles A. Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Reynolds of New Berlin; daughters, Morgan (Jeffery) Dunkle of Port Orchard, WA, and Jessica (Duminda) Gunawardena of St. Joseph, MO; and grandchild, Amala Gunawardena.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Jerome United Methodist Church. A memorial ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Donn Stephens officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
