Ivan was born on October 29, 1994, in Mexico City, the son of Ma. Susana Cruz Vargas and Moises Ramirez.
Ivan was a 2013 graduate of Chatham Glenwood High School and attended UCLA to pursue a career in film making. He was employed with the State of IL, Department of Vital Records.
Ivan was a talented artist. He had an unstoppable passion for creating beautiful visual art and an infinite love for composing music. He also enjoyed computer coding and was a movie buff. He was known for his enormous heart, warm disposition, and goofy sense of humor. He had the most charming smile, and he always made the sun come out on a rainy day.
He is survived by his mother, Susi Cruz (husband, Derek) Hurt of Springfield; sister, Karen (husband, Eljah) Snyder of Springfield and their daughter, Phoebe; father, Moises Ramirez of Mexico; maternal grandmother, Rhode (husband, Jay) Hidalgo of Springfield; paternal grandfather, Francisco (wife, Hilda) Cruz of Mexico; girlfriend, Meg Marron; step-sister, Lauren (husband, Sam) Huff of California and their daughter, Joyce; four uncles, Francisco (wife, Rosaura) Cruz of Mexico and their children, Paloma and Alondra; Esteban Cruz of Springfield and his children, Alex, Sam, and Grace; Hugo (wife, Mercedes) Cruz of Mexico and their children, Sebastian and Arturo; Abraham (wife, Mariana) Cruz of Mexico and their son, Bruno; and aunt, Martha Cruz of Mexico.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
