

She was born in Springfield on April 17, 1940, the daughter of Truman and Anne (Kelly) Redpath.
Grace worked as a bookkeeper and front-end manager for Kroger and Ben Tire. She was an avid sports fan and watched all types of events. Grace’s love of sports extended beyond the sidelines as she coached softball and proudly stood as one of the few female managers in the Khoury League. She was the fun, loving heart of her family who was passionate about making holiday gatherings unforgettable where she crafted piñatas and her famous Easter egg hunts. Grace also enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to gamble. She had a great love for her dogs who were always by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Ellen Lawson, Stuart Redpath, and Thomas Redpath, Sr.
Grace is survived by her children, Nan (Mike) Carlen of Chatham, Dave (Sheila) Gerber of Auburn, Margie (Don) Cook of Springfield, Jimmy (Sirena) Gerber of Dawson, Jane (companion, Gerry) Miller of Springfield, and Jack (Tracy) Gerber of Mascoutah; 16 grandchildren; sister, Arlene Bales of Springfield; brother, Robert (Diana) Redpath of Lincoln; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
