She was born on September 14, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Van B. Serber and step-daughter of the late Edith Serber. She married Hershel Gardner in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gardner worked in housekeeping at the Days Inn in Springfield.
She is survived by 5 sons, Hershel (wife Debbie) Gardner of Riverton, IL, Harold (wife Sandy) Gardner, Earl Gardner, Van (wife Virginia) Gardner, and John Gardner, all of Springfield, and a daughter, Alma (husband Donnie) Rogers of Springfield. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also surviving.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Lois Smith, and Sylvia Kunz.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. No services are scheduled at this time.
