Freida Kieffer

Freida Mae Dermont Kieffer 66 of Springfield, passed away on November 29, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1957 in Champaign, IL , the daughter of the late Robert and Mae “Bernice” Dermont. She is survived by her son Keyan Kieffer, grandson Hartlan Eugene Kieffer, and 5 sisters Melinda Dermont Lowder and Sandy McQuality, both of Springfield, Susan Hefley of Villa Grove, Peggy Betancourt (Elmer) of New Mexico, Cheryl Belcher of Decatur and one brother Marvin Hagmann (Linda) of Oklahoma, also several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her Grandparents, brother Robert Hagmann, brother-in-law Ron Belcher, and sister-in-law Helen Hagmann.

Freida graduated from Springfield Southeast High School and Lincoln Land Community College. She was a Gymnastics Instructor at the Academy of Gymnastics and Fine Dance for 10 years. In addition, she worked as a Child Care Teacher at Capitol City Nursery for 2 years, Berean Baptist Day Care for 12 years and the UIS Cox Children's Center for 30 years where she retired on May 1, 2018. She was an avid Cub fan and enjoyed babysitting, playing softball, bingo, bunco and riding her bike with her dog Wrigley. She was a former member of Woodside United Methodist Church.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, followed by a funeral service at 11:30. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetary.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Home Hospice and Alzheimer's Association.
