Debra "Debbie" L. Boggs

Debra "Debbie" L. Boggs, 64, of Springfield, died at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. John's Hospice. Debbie was born November 6, 1950 in Springfield, the daughter of Albert and Wilma McCray Stevens. She married David James Boggs on February 22, 1980 in Springfield. Debbie graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin and worked as an in-home daycare provider. Prior to having her own daycare, she was employed with the Illinois State Lottery for 11 years. She was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church. Debbie enjoyed fishing, drawing, writing, collecting angels, and being outside, especially during the fall. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son, David. She is survived by her husband, David J. Boggs of Springfield; two daughters, Melissa Underfanger of Hopedale and Amanda (husband, Branden) Powell of Springfield; five grandchildren, Morgan Hill, Zach Libera, Logan Baptiste, Jacob Powell, and Alexandria Powell; siblings, Michael (wife, Cathy) Stevens and Albert (wife, Shiryl) Stevens, both of Springfield, Melissa (partner, Rick Langford) Stevens of Perry, KS, and Nick (wife, Mary) Stevens of Dawson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:30-12:15 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Janoski officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
