Debra was born on February 8, 1962, in Lincoln, the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Baker) Miller. She married Joseph M. Boggs on March 15, 1997, in Springfield; he preceded her in death.
She worked for the Illinois State Police in administration. Debra was also a member of Springfield’s First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed having lunch with friends, playing cards, watching her favorite TV shows, playing with her dogs, and gardening and loved to cook for her family and friends. Debra was also an avid Illini fan.
Debra was preceded in death by her husband; father; step-father, Charlie Hanselman; and brother, David Miller.
She is survived by her mother; son, Benjamin Boggs of Springfield; sister, Melissa (Stan) Heaton of Temecula, CA.; niece Kayla Heaton of Los Angles, CA and nephew Kyle Heaton of Temecula, CA; step-son, Brendon Boggs of Jacksonville; step-daughter, Kelsey (Derek) Althouse of Clinton; three grandkids, Kyla Boggs of Springfield, and Matthew and Marissa Althouse of Clinton.

Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Springfield First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Road, Springfield, IL, with Rev. Justin Snider officiating. Interment will follow shortly after at Calvary Cemetery.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 South Sixth Street, Springfield IL.
