She was born August 10, 1954, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Emil J. and Luella P. Wright Alexander.
Connie graduated from Southeast High School in 1972 and was employed as a claims examiner at Horace Mann Insurance Company for over 40 years. She was an active member of the honor society while in high school, volunteered with the Festival of Trees, and was a blood and organ donor. Connie was a trivia queen and did well with numbers. She enjoyed couponing, going to see movies, and taking care of people.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Thomas, Kevin, and Joseph “Joe” Alexander; sisters, Jennie Alexander and Barbara Alexander-Jones; and aunt, Mary Weiss.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Shawn (Terry McMillin) Stanley of Springfield; siblings, Julie Holm of Chula Vista, CA and Carl Alexander of Lawndale, CA; her grand-furbabies, Bruno and Junebug; one grandson, Kevin Rensman; one granddaughter, Ashley Bauereiss; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 South 6th Street, Springfield, IL.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 am. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield with celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
