Charles M. “Chuck” Wilson, 73, of Springfield, formerly of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2017 at his residence. He was born on April 1, 1944 in Taylorville to Lawrence E. and Ona May Miller Wilson. Chuck married Lynn Ann Craggs in 1972 and she survives.
Mr. Wilson is also survived by his two daughters: Kristyn Yocius and Lindy Wilson both of Springfield, one son Gregory Craggs of Tampa, FL., three grandchildren: Isaac Anderson, Kaih Yocius and Zvee Yocius and one brother Larry Wilson.
Chuck was a mentor to many people offering advice and support to others through experiences and lessons learned in life. He loved to travel with his wife Lynn and they enjoyed many trips by car, bus, plane, motorcycle, and RV. Chuck had been a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He went to church at Cherry Hills Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the US Army and enjoyed his career with Re/Max as a Real Estate Broker. He was friends of Bill W. for 31 years.
A private graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday July 16, 2017 at Hope Church, 3000 Lenhart Road, Springfield, IL. A memorial in honor of Chuck will be set up through the Veterans’ Foundation. More information regarding that will be forthcoming at Chuck’s Celebration of Life Service.
