Chuck was born on April 12, 1948, the son of Edward Wallner and Margariette Lane Foster. He married Nancy Kelly on March 21, 1970, in Leroy, IL.
Chuck attended Springfield High School and later graduated from Illinois State University with his bachelor’s degree. He founded Professional Consulting Services of Illinois in 1970. He was a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC) advising private practice physicians and dentists nationwide for 45 years before retiring in 2020. He contributed to the local medical community through his time associated with Memorial Medical Center, helping to start Healthcare Network Associates (HCNA), as well as recruiting physicians to the community. He also designed and built several local medical offices. Chuck had a great passion for classic cars winning several awards. Chuck and Nancy both enjoyed boating and sailing, University of Illinois sports, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs. He got the most joy being around his grandchildren. Chuck was a member of the Island Bay Yacht Club and Rt. 66 Cruisers.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Nancy; and brother, Todd Foster.
He is survived by his sons, Trevor (Amy) Wallner of Springfield, IL, and Christopher (Kimberly) Wallner of Mettawa, IL; daughter, Crystal (Derek) Howard of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Logan, Lucy, and Elle Wallner, and Harper, Maggie, and William Howard; brother, Buddy (Cheryl) Foster; sister, Pamela Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Justin Snider officiating.
