Betty was born April 1, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of William and Irene Margaret Tuscher Huebner. She married John Lavelle Reilly on August 27, 1949, in Chicago; he preceded her in death on May 13, 2008.
Betty graduated from Nicholas Senn High School in Chicago in 1941. She was fun-loving, gave of her time and talents, was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful friend to many, and a great cook and entertainer. Betty was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Agnes Altar Society, and St. Joseph’s Home Coterie. She also volunteered for St. John’s Hospital, St. Agnes School, and Catholic Charities. Betty enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, sewing, pottery, drinking wine, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William P. Reilly; and brother, Dewitt Huebner.
Betty is survived by her son, Thomas Michael (wife, Karen) Reilly of Springfield; daughter, Kathleen Marie (husband, Bruce) Easterly of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Very Rev. Daniel J. Bergbower, V.F., celebrant. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be limited capacity.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
