She was born on November 3, 1930 in Mt. Auburn, IL, the daughter of the late Roy Samuel and Cordie (Noffsinger) Sample. She married Floyd Alfred “Jack” Davis and he preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Davis worked as a cook at Steak ‘n’ Shake for over 30 years. She enjoyed nature, spending time with her family, and country music, especially Willie Nelson.
She is survived by 8 children, Richard Davis of East Peoria, IL, Connie (husband Vern) Keys of Ohio, Janice (husband Fred) Cawley of Springfield, Robert Tuning of Springfield, Phyllis Flowers of Springfield, Linda (husband Tom) Drone of Florida, Sherry Davis of Springfield, and Eldon (wife Barb) Davis of Middletown, IL; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Allen Davis, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Private graveside services will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.
