He was born on March 9, 1951, the son of Tony D. and Mary Elizabeth (Van Fossan) Luparell. Tony married Janet Ruth Dupoy on July 17, 1998, in Springfield. She preceded him in death, on September 29, 2013.
Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. He went on to work for the Pillsbury plant until their closure, and then as an electrical professional with Lowes Home Improvement, until his retirement in early 2024. Tony was a member of ABATE of Springfield, where he helped deliver Christmas toys and Easter baskets to children. He also participated in riding motorcycles for funerals. Tony loved riding his Harley motorcycle, and rescuing cats. He was high-spirited, a people person, kind, joyful, and never knew a stranger. Tony’s family was very important to him, as were his friends, especially Jeremy Woodyard.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and his son Todd.
Tony is survived by his son, Anthony Luparell of Hudson, FL; step-daughters, Katrina Turner and Thursa McCoy, both of Springfield; siblings, Larry (Peggy) Luparell of Decatur, Sheryl (Dave) Hoban and Michael Luparell, both of Springfield, and Mary Kay (Todd) Callahan of Chatham; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
