Adam Michael Ressler, 31, of Chatham, IL, passed away peacefully at St. Louis University Hospital at 1:15pm on May 8, 2024, with his parents by his side. He was born December 15, 1992, in Springfield, IL, the son of Randy Ressler of Springfield and Robin Broglin Favre of Chatham.
He is survived by his parents; stepmom, Julie Ressler; grandmas, Nancy Rogers of Springfield and Audrey Ressler of Melbourne, FL., step-grandma Judy Broglin of St. Charles, IL; three brothers, Nick (wife, Peyton) Ressler of Chatham, and Aiden Ressler and Ryan Sattler of Springfield; one sister, Lydia Ressler of Springfield; three nephews, Colton, Keagan, and Camden Ressler; one niece, Khloe Ressler; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as friends he called family.
He was preceded in death by his grandpas, Jim Broglin and Ralph Ressler.
Adam was a 2011 graduate of Glenwood High School. He received his Associates of Arts in Business from Lincoln Land Community College. He worked for a time at the Illinois State Library and also moonlighted as an HVAC assistant starting in 2021. Adam was not afraid to try anything, but loyalty and commitment were an important part of his work ethic. He began his long career in the food service industry in 2009 when, at 16, he became one of the first employees at Springfield’s Texas Roadhouse where he remained until 2021. Adam was a customer favorite and continued sharing his talents, brilliant smile and gift of gab most recently at Loukinen’s on 4th, where he became known for exceptional service and engaging conversation.
Adam did not know a stranger and dearly loved his family and friends. He also loved basketball, animals, being outdoors, songwriting, and helping anyone in need. Adam had the most infectious laugh, charismatic smile, and you-know-you-are-loved hug. He had a heart of gold and a beautiful soul, and he will be truly missed and fondly remembered by so many.
