S. Sheldon Katz, 94 years old, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 5th, 2023. Devoted husband of 57 beautiful years to Cynthia Katz. Beloved father of Richard Katz (Iana Dimkova), Nancy Katz (Matthew Rothman), Eric Katz (Aimee Goldstein). Loving grandfather of Teddy, Sophie, Rosalyn, and Olivia.
Born in The Bronx, Sheldon attended Bronx High School of Science, NYU, then later attended Downstate Medical School where he obtained his Medical Degree. He completed his Neurosurgical Residency at Montefiore/Einstein Medical Center. He began his neurosurgical career in Rockland County in 1961 caring for patients at Good Samaritan Hospital, and Nyack Hospital where he served as Chief of Surgery. He retired in 1992.
Graveside services will take place on Friday December 8th, 2023 10:30 AM at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY.
