Kenny (Kino) Mandel, a lifelong resident of Rockland County, died unexpectedly on March 4, 2022 at the age of 65.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife Jane, his children Chett Mandel and Allison Avihay, their spouses Nellie and Nadav, and his granddaughter Lucy. He is also survived by his loving sisters Melanie Mandel and Debbie Di Bari and brother-in-law Don Di Bari, sister-in-law Suzanne Klein and brother in law Paul Scott, as well as his nieces and nephew Lauren Hellman, Adam Klein, Nikkie Paladino, and Duval Mandel and their loving families.
Kenny was born in Nyack, NY on November 30, 1956 to Helen and Julius Mandel. He graduated from Ramapo High School in 1974 and Binghamton University in 1979. He owned several businesses throughout his lifetime and married Jane on June 26, 1983 and welcomed two beautiful children who were the most important part of his life.
Kenny’s greatest accomplishment was his ability to show his love for others. He was amazingly thoughtful, helpful, and generous to those in need and he touched the hearts of all he met. He volunteered with the Big Brother/Big Sister of Rockland County and worked to ensure those in need were well cared for. In his free time, Kenny was an avid collector of all things, but especially loved sports memorabilia. He loved participating in flea markets and socializing with his patrons. Friends played an important part in his life, and because of this, he often planned social events to ensure everyone stayed connected. Kenny’s love for his children, grandchild, nieces, nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephew were unconditional. It was of the utmost importance that those around him were happy. He will be surely missed by all. Kenny reminded us to laugh.
