William J. Davis, age 90, of Brooksville, FL.(The Heather) died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home residence surrounded by his family, under the care of HPH Hospice Foundation. He was born in Moate, Ireland, to the late Thomas and Ann (McKeon) Davis on May 6, 1924. William was a 25 year resident of Brooksville (the Heather) coming from Flushing, NY. He retired from Pan American Airlines in 1987 as a Component Control Specialist. William was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy as a Corpsman, stationed in the Philippines. He was a long time active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He served on the alter as a lecture, and was active in the Knights of Columbus Counsel # 11317 at St. Joan of Arc, and served on the Assembly #1721 Honor Guard. On his off time William enjoyed Golfing. He was preceded in death by his first Wife, Margaret Davis in 2001, and by his parents. He is lovingly survived by his wife Margaret (Easley) Davis of Brooksville, daughter, Mary Ellen Swersky and her husband Robert, of Great Neck, NY, son, Thomas Davis and his wife Lorraine, of Ridgewood, NY, and son, Bobby Davis and his wife Velida, of Prattville, AL. William also is survived by his grandchildren; Michael Hallerman, Stephen Hallerman, Shannon Davis, Sean Davis, Christopher Davis, Alex Davis, and great grandson, Aiden Hallerman, and great granddaughter, Elena Hallerman. He will be greatly missed by his loving sisters; Chris, Peggy, Aggie, & Eileen, all of Ireland. Along with his membership at St. Joan of Arc, William is also a member of the VFW 10209 in Spring Hill. Family and friends will join at the visitation at the Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Dr. Spring Hill, FL., 34609, on Thursday, April 30, 2015, from 5-8 PM. The Knights of Columbus Honor Guard will have a service at 6:30 PM, and the wake service will be held at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Raymond O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at the Florida Hills Memorial Garden, with the Committal Service and bagpiper. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall at St. Joan of Arc Church. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in William’s honor.
