Freddie was a dedicated employee, retiring from Detroit Diesel after over 30 years of service. He was well respected and valued by his colleagues.
Freddie found spiritual guidance at the New Mountain Top Baptist Church in Winston, GA., he also fellowship with The World Mission Church of Fort Lauderdale, FL., under the leadership of Pastor Julia Wilson and Co-Pastor Daryl Wilson.
Mr. Benjamin moved to Florida in 2015 (after the passing of his wife) with his daughter Cheryl Woods and Son-in-law Tyrone.
In his free time, Freddie enjoyed working on the family farm, going on weekly sightseeing tours, and spending quality time with his love ones. He cherished moments shared over dinner with family.
He will be forever loved and missed by his loving family and we are forever grateful for all the support that started when he was a child himself, which he has passed down in our hearts and memory.
Mr. Benjamin was preceded in death by his Wife Georgia Benjamin, brothers David Benjamin, Joseph Benjamin, Joe Nathan Benjamin and sister Lula Mae Gibson.
Freddie is survived by daughters: Cheryl Woods (Tyrone Woods), Bridget Benjamin, Octavia Benjamin, Natalie Barnes, Margo Benjamin; sons: Freddie Benjamin, Jr., David Benjamin, and Freddie Duncan; Brother: Robert Benjamin (Mary Benjamin) of Detroit, MI; sister Johnnie Eva Estrict of Passaic, NJ; sister-in-laws: Minnie Benjamin Fort Wayne, IN, Bettie Little and Ollie Cook; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A visitation for Freddie will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, followed by a going home celebration of life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
