Donald R. Smith, 73, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018. He was born in Akron, Ohio to James and Beatrice Smith. He was an ordained minister and a member of the Sheriff’s Association. He was also with the 5th Judicial Circuit Court Mediator and a US Marine veteran. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Erica Smith.
He is survived by his wife Miranda Smith; sons James Andrew Smith, Christopher Smith; daughter Summer Anne Smith; sister Nancy J. Meloy (Gerald).
Memorial service will be 11AM Saturday, September 1, 2018 located at the First United Methodist Church 9344 Spring Hill Dr. Spring Hill, Florida 34608.

This is not good-bye,
It is only farewell for a little while,
When we think of you being here we will cry,
But when we think of our wonderful memories we’ll smile.
You have a special place in the hearts of many people,
You touched so many lives in your special way,
You had a kind word for everyone and were a friend to all
You shared words of wisdom and gave encouragement to those in need,
You spoke of your Lord and about waiting for His call,
You said when he spoke, you would heed.
The Lord decided it was time to take you to your Heavenly Home above,
He lifted you gently in His arms and gave you wings to fly,
Now you are with loved ones who went before you, you are surrounded in love,
Even though we are sad and have tears to cry,
We will remember that we will all be together again someday,
And what a glorious day that will be to again see your smile,
You will be right there to lead our way.
