Daniel J. Cronin, age 86, of Spring Hill, Florida died at Oak Hill Hospital on Thursday, August 24, 2017. Daniel was a 30 year resident coming from Levittown, Long Island, NY. Daniel was born in Manhattan, NY, on December 23, 1930, to the late John & Ida Cronin. Daniel was a retired Police Officer with 20 years on the job, from a beat office, to Plain Clothes, and finally in the Youth Aide Division. Daniel enjoyed playing golf. He was of the Catholic faith and a past member of the 10-13 Club of Spring Hill. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of 64 years, Lorraine Cronin, who died on January 16, 2016. Daniel is survived by his son, Michael J Cronin, of Hudson, FL, and daughter Ann Benoit and her husband Gregory, of Levittown, NY. Daniel will also be missed by his 4 grandchildren, Robert Benoit, Jennifer Benoit, Michael Cronin and Dominique Cronin. Daniel’s family and friends will gather at the Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL, 34609. The Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10-11 am with the Memorial Service to be held at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Honor of Daniel.
