Born in Red Bank, New Jersey on June 11, 1973, Art was the youngest of five childen--and the only son--of Arthur Sr. and Marilyn "Rita" (Eastmond) Edick, who preceded him in death.
He was a 1991 graduate of Keansburg High School in Keansburg, New Jersey. Art has been a resident of Florida (most recently Dade City) since December 1991 when he moved with his parents to Sarasota County.
Art was employed for over 10 years with Walgreens in stores in Sarasota, Tampa and Lakeland.
Together since June 2011, Art was united with his partner Ronald Gadzalinski in a civil union Commitment ceremony on December 31, 2011.
Art and Ron enjoyed the companionship of their two dogs, Jinks and Jinjer. Art's interests included photography (he had his own photography business on the side), baking and cooking, computers and other technical things, computer games, embroidery, anime, musicals (especially Hairspray), horror movies and Scooby-Doo cartoons. He was also a Science Fiction fan and enjoyed both Star Trek and Star Wars. And Art really loved to do online shopping too.
He was a big, gentle Bear of a man and will be remembered for his kindness and caring ways towards others. He was generous and was always willing to help those in need. One of his most endearing qualities is that he was a big kid at heart and that's why Art liked children. Art truly brought joy and happiness to all who knew him.
Art is survived by his loving partner/husband of 10 years, Ron Gadzalinski, his older sisters Lisa Edick of Keansburg, New Jersey, Dianne Edick (Randy Truett) of Savannah, Georgia, Phyllis Edick of Sarasota, Florida and Joan (Robert) Dowell of Milford, Delaware. Art was a special uncle to his many nieces and nephews; especially Lee Edick. Further survived by other family members, including Ron's children (Kevin, Brian and Sarah Gadzalinski) and step-grandson Anthony; also by many good friends.
A Celebration of Life memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at Falcon Hall at the Blue Jay MH & RV Park, 11034 Falcon Dr., Dade City, Florida on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 4:00pm.
