A Life Well Lived
Roland Lean’ Anderson, 76, passed away in Corona, CA on July 12, 2014. He was born the youngest of eleven children to Mr. and Mrs. Gardner and Roberta Anderson, in Bay Minette, Alabama. Upon completion of High School he honored his country and proudly served in the US Army and USAR Corps from 1956 – 1962. Upon returning from Europe in 1959, he quickly reunited with many of his siblings in the Great Northwest town of Spokane, WA. It was here where he met his beautiful, devoted wife, Shelia. They married on October 26, 1963, and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. He enjoyed a long career at Kaiser Aluminum, where he retired in 1989. Roland (Dad) was fully dedicated to his title of Husband, Father, Uncle, Cousin, Mentor, Coach, and Friend to the diverse group of young kids and families he encountered throughout his lifetime. He left a positive and long lasting impression on the many lives he touched. An extremely Proud Man, soft spoken, always ready to listen; a calming influence in every situation he encountered…a true Field General! Roland is survived by his beautiful wife, Shelia, their children Roland (Chip), Reggie and Family (Jacqueline, Nico, Tarik, and Great-grandson Rolando), Kim and Family (Britanni, Brianna, and Kamreigh), Rodney and Family (Vincent, Dante, Treyjon, and Daylen), and also Matt and Family (Harmony, Piper, and Roan), Christopher and Family (Jeanette, Christian and Channing), Annie and Family, Tonya and Family and his Big Brother Dan. Additional “family” members spent time under his roof and are forever held near and dear to his heart, including Owen Bryant. He was a very special man who was loved and adored by his many nieces and nephews and had a newly found special relationship with his Nephew Norm Howlett. He was preceded in death by parents Gardner and Roberta, siblings Brunetta, Jodie, Evelyn, Juanita, Lillian, Oscar, Alduffie, James, and Gardner (June). Please join us in celebrating his life with a viewing on Friday, July 18, 2014 between 3:00 to 8:00pm at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home 5100 W. Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205.
