MaryRita I. Wood, 86, of Spokane, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at North Central Care Center in Spokane. She was born on August 18, 1925, in Herkimer, NY, a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Jarvis) Blair. In November 1944, she married Ambrose William Wood in Utica, NY. Mr. Wood died in 1986 in Midway City, CA.
She worked for over 15 years as an assembler for ITT Cannon in California as well as other assembly jobs.
She had been a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Spokane since 1987.
MaryRita is survived by her children, Joseph Wood, John Wood, Timothy Wood, and Sharon Wilson. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as sister, Barbara Harvey, and her husband, Robert, of Utica, NY, and daughter-in-law, Arlene Blazon. She was preceded in death by her son, Ambrose Wood, Jr.; two brothers, Clarence and Edward Blair; and four sisters, MaryEtta Sherman, Rebecca Hall, Gertrude Blair, and Veronica Blair.
Services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 10 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 3520, E. 18th Ave., Spokane, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated followed by a reception.
Private interment will be held at a later date in California. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association. Arrangements entrusted to Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St., Spokane.
