Our hero, Loren A. Allen, made his way to the other side December 27, 2012. Loren was born the 7th son of 9 siblings to Albert and Anna Allen on October 23, 1923. He is survived by his brother, Henry “Hank” Allen, and sister, Joyce Fischer. While in the Army, stationed in Puerto Rico during WWII, Loren met and married the love of his life, Gloria, and spent the next 40 years in Gary, Indiana, working at US Steel and raising his family of 6 children – 3 surviving children, Donna, Ron, and Lisa, plus 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, while wife, Gloria and children, Gerry, Deb, Melvin and grandson, Craig, have already departed and were waiting to greet Loren. Upon retirement, Loren and Gloria moved back west to Spokane where he spent his final years embracing time with his family, his passion for fishing, outdoor life, and making unique wood creations in his shop.
