Our dearest wife, mother, grandmother and sister Leanne Kay Mason went to be with her Lord on January 16th at the young age of 63 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Spokane (Shadle Park 1976 graduate), Washington to first generation Greek parents, Harry and Callie Menegas.
Leanne and her loving husband, Jim, were joined at the heart for 44 years. Their love is unwavering and truly something to marvel. The way they looked at each other proved their love was unconditional and eternal. Jim and Leanne raised two children, Nick and Rachae. Leanne was always there for her kids. It could be calls 5 times per day, a problem to solve, a patient ear or a venting session, the bond they shared was remarkable. Leanne was the best of the best, kind, smart, warm, thoughtful and genuine. Our time with Leanne was a gift. Anyone who knew her knew how pure her heart was.
While Leanne’s greatest joy in life was always her family, she was able to do it all, and had an accomplished career as a Medical Practice Executive working over 25 years at Northwest Orthopedic Specialists. She enjoyed her work and made a positive impact for those around her.
Leanne had six grandchildren who she undoubtedly cherished, they were her world. The light in her eyes shined extra bright when she was with them. Their time together was too short but her legacy will live on through them.
Leanne was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Callie Menegas. She is survived by her husband, Jim and his mother Donna, children Nick (Beth), Rachae (Chris), Grandchildren Max, Luke and Kash Mason and, Leah, Lexi and Harrison Windham, sister Sandra (John) Gravbrot, brothers George and Nick (Jennifer) Menegas, Julie (Mark) Lease, Bob (Melissa) Mason. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, many extended family members and friends.
We would like to thank the staff at Regency skilled nursing for the wonderful care they provided, making Leanne’s time there peaceful and filled with grace.
Leanne’s contagious smile, warmth and thoughtfulness will forever be missed.
Leanne Mason’s funeral will be celebrated on January 29, 2022, at 1 pm at the Gonzaga Prep Chapel Of The Three Companions, in Spokane, Washington. 1224 E. Euclid, Spokane, WA 99207. In order to protect those wanting to honor Leanne, masks are requested.
