Age - 76
Karen was born August 9, 1941 in Walla Walla, WA, followed by a childhood in Rice, WA. She graduated from Kettle Falls High School, where she participated as a band marionette. She met her husband of almost 57 years while a student at Eastern Washington University, and they married October 7, 1960.
Her legacy will be remembered as a woman who centered her life around ministering in her church where she was active in Sunday School, Woman's Bible Study, AWANA, ministry outreach, playing the organ and singing in the choir. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, teaching piano, going on walks, taking pictures, baking with her grandchildren and attending cooking classes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Pratt; siblings: Elmer Pratt, Rollie Pratt, Bette Nelson; and grandson, Shawn Cottey.
Karen is survived by her husband, Michael A. Rogers and her children: Michael A. Rogers, Randall K. Rogers, Kelly G. (Christian) Hansen; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings include her sister, Joan (Bob) Urhausen and brother, J R Mclean.
Karen will be dearly missed by the many lives she touched, as she lived her life as an example for all of us to follow.
A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, September 23, 2017, 2:00 pm at New Hope Bible Church, 1445 North Argonne Road, Spokane Valley, WA, followed by a fellowship reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made in her honor to New Hope Bible Church for further missionary outreach.
