Jessica Leigh Daniels, our cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend died unexpectedly on Feb 5, 2021. She was the light of so many lives and she will be missed every minute of every day.
Jess was born July 24, 1992, in Illinois and moved to Seattle in 1999. She was an excellent student, played clarinet and piano, and participated in several sports. Jess shared her time and talent by taking mission trips with her youth group. She also had a profound love of dogs and helped to foster many rescue dogs. Her dog, Mimi, will also miss her dearly.
The ‘science’ of medicine drew Jess into the nursing profession. She graduated with honors from Gonzaga University’s Nursing Program in 2014 and worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. For the last several years, she cared for critically ill children in the pediatric ICU. Jessie loved her job, her patients and their families, and her coworkers.
Jess remained a huge Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball fan and she rarely missed a Seattle Seahawks game. Her sassy sense of humor and quick wit were enjoyed by everyone she knew. Sadly, Jess suffered from chronic neck pain, daily headaches, and debilitating migraines for years, yet she gave her very best each day.
Jessie is survived by her parents, Susan and Dennis, her sister Julie and her stepbrother Spencer. Jessie had just become a new auntie to Olivia Jayne, who she was so eager to meet. She is also survived by her loving grandmother, ‘Minnie’, whose nickname for Jessie was ‘Buttercup’. Jess is so blessed to have been so loved by her extended family and dear friends.
Jess was not overly spiritual but her ‘heaven’ was at Pelican Lake in Orr, Minnesota. It is here that we will spread her ashes this summer. We hope to share her memorial service at that time for those who would like to be with us.
For all of us who are hurting, we share Jessie’s favorite phrase of encouragement: ‘all shall be well’.
May you rest in comfort and peace, our sweet Jessica.
In lieu of flowers, Jessie would appreciate contributions to her favorite organizations:
