Grace was born in 1929 in Cooperstown, New York. She graduated from Richland High School,
Richland, WA. She attended Holy Names Academy in Spokane, WA where she met Matthew
Skocilich who attended Gonzaga University. The couple married in 1948 and had five children;
David (Max) Skocilich, Anne Kutchera, John Skocilich, Mary Davis and Mark Skocilich.
Following Matt's death, she married Oliver Howard, and later Larry Howard (not related). She
has 16 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Fran Ruitenbeck of Kennewick, WA and brother, Don Lennebacker
of Mulkiteo, WA., her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Lennebacker of
Centennial, CO.
Grace was a devoted mother, painter, writer and a very social lady. She had a silly sense of
humor and was a devout Christian. She enjoyed square dancing with the Whirl-A-Ways square
dance group for a number of years.
A celebration of Life Service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July, 26, 2023 at Amazing
Grace Fellowship, 416 W. Betz Rd, Cheney, Washington 99004. All are welcome to attend and
celebrate Grace’s life.
The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice and Palliative Care and the Fairwood Assisted
Living facility staff for supporting Grace in her peaceful transition to meet her Lord. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, Spokane, WA.
