Born June 23, 1927 to Hugo and Irene Barthelemew in Spokane, WA. Passed away September 30, 2010. Ethel loved sewing, knitting cooking, fishing, metal detecting, ceramics and dancing. She was the Treasurer for the Grads Club and C.O.P.S. Northwest. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Louis Allen, at home; her children, Mike Allen of Seattle, James Bird of Texas, Jerry Ryder of Seattle, Susan Beiber of Spokane, Debra Eldrige (Dan) of Spokane, Robert Allen (Holly) of Spokane; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Loren Barthelemew of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Bird, in 2010; four brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, from 2:00 till 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Interment at Fairmount Memorial Park.
