OBITUARY

Dianna Jo Payne

18 August, 1953 – 13 December, 2018
IN THE CARE OF

Ball & Dodd Funeral Home

Dianna Jo Payne (Rodgers) was born August 18, 1953 and passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her mother Carol Rodgers, her sisters Debbie Barron, Denise Bishop, Doliena Lee and Doreen McVay (Jeff). She was a loving mother to Jenell Payne Tamaela (Rob) and Sandi Payne. She adored her granddaughters, Alexis, Maddie Taylor, and Macy. She is also survived by her ex-husband who she “mostly tolerated,” Bill Payne. Dianna graduated from John Rogers High School in 1971. Dianna loved spending her time with her family and loved to watch sports, especially Alabama (Roll Tide) and the Zags. Despite the fact that Dianna never played the sports she watched, she thought she knew more about the sport than the players, the coaches, and the refs. Dianna was an avid reader, and you would not catch her without a book in her hand or in her purse, or both. She enjoyed playing games with her sisters. If there was a college degree in Yahtzee, she would have a PhD. Her childhood was filled with many trips to Alabama to see her loving family. There is no way to verbalize how much joy Dianna brought to people. Her family is only comforted by the fact that she was preceded in death by her father, John L Rodgers, her brother in law JB, and her nephew Tanner Homminga, who were all waiting for her in heaven when she passed. Per her wishes, the family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please send good thoughts and prayers to her family. Dianna will be greatly missed by all.
