Matthew Mark Johnson

Matthew Mark Johnson went to be with the Lord on October 16th, 2022. He was born in Spokane, WA on February 11th, 1977 to Mark and Gayle Johnson. He grew up in the Spokane Valley, attended University High School and graduated in 1995.

He went on to earn golf scholarships at Spokane Community College and University of Idado, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication. After graduation, Matt was employed by Reliable Credit, where he was a devoted employee for 22 years. Matt will be remembered by his kind and sensitive heart, joyful laugh, and warm hugs.

He was a loyal friend, a sports fanatic, a proud uncle, an animal lover (who was sometimes referred to as "the dog whisperer"), a fantastic golfer, and a wonderful son and brother. Above all else, Matt loved his family and the Lord. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents Walt Schillinger, Marlin Johnson, Jack and Shirley Riddle, and cousin Christopher Schillinger.

He is survived by his grandmother Donna Schillinger, parents, Mark and Gayle Johnson, sister and brother-in-law Megan and Chris Fulkerson, niece Claire Fulkerson, nephew Owen Fulkerson, aunts and uncles Neil and Leanne Schillinger, Curt and Sheila Schillinger, George and Traci Schillinger, and cousins Heidi, Jeremy, Andrew, David, Joel, Ashley and their families.

A memorial service will be held November 5th, 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church- 3606 Schafer Road.
