Mary Ann Lamb was born on July 17, 1935, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and died on October 25, 2024, in Spokane, Washington. She was the second youngest of four siblings, Cecilia, John, and Roman born to Pauline Ropella (Burskey). When Mary was young her family relocated to Walla Walla, Washington, where she graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic School in 1953. Mary’s family ultimately relocated to Spokane, Washington.
In 1961 Mary married Charles Lamb, with whom she raised three children, Donald, Fred, and Vada. As her children left to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces, she and her husband became empty nesters until his death in 1995. After his death Mary continued to live in Spokane until her death. She is the last member of her family’s generation and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435 for many years.
Mary is survived by her children Donald Lamb, Fred Lamb, and Vada Martinez (Lamb), four grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, and her dog Sugar, who loved her very much.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the The National Kidney Foundation.
A funeral service for Mary will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
