Kenneth Charles Cross, was born in Spokane, WA on December 17, 1949 to Clarence George Cross and Shirley Anne (Weigle) Cross. Ken graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1968 and then received an AA degree from Spokane Falls Community College. He played Rec League softball, football and basketball. He loved his family, his cows, his dogs and his farm and he liked to fish, camp and garden. His favorite place in the world was Priest Lake where our family spent time for more than 40 summers. He was a proud member of Steelworkers Local 338 serving as Plant Safety Chairman for many years. Ken was a quiet man who spoke softly but had strong opinions regarding politics and how it affected the Average Joe. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy; his children Cindy (Jeremy) Hawkins, Teresa (Bob) Sandeno, Brian Cross and their mother Sherry Moen, Jessica Cross, KC (Kelsey) Cross; grandchildren Ryan and Robert (Hailey) Sandeno, Brenden Cross, Mari and Kai Cross, Kole and Masin Hawkins and Rickym Cross along with great grandchildren Roslyn, Walter and Maya. Also survived by two sisters, Carol Baker and Connie (Ron) McCleery and one brother Gary Cross, numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends and neighbors. A Memorial Service will be held at the Valleyford Community Church at the corner of the Palouse Hwy and Madison Road on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM, followed by a gathering at the Harvest Moon Café in Rockford. Hazen & Jaeger Valley is in charge of arrangements and cremation.
