Rarely do we meet people who have a gentleness, kindness or loving heart as big as his. Dan was one of those special people who touched the lives of all he met or who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. Dan joind the Lord on July 12, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. His spirit will live on in us forever as we strive to live the lessons we learned from him.
Dan was born in Spokane, WA, on December 29, 1923, to Earl and Effie Steinman. He was an oly child who was adored by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son. He attended Millwood High School and graduated in 1942. He spent the next 4 years in servie to the Navy. He married the love of his life, Arlene, in 1946 and their love for each other only grew over their 66 years of marriage. Their 4 childre, Randall (Lynda), Barry (deceased), kathleen Walker (Roger), and Bradcley (kristy) were a source of joy in his life. He ahd a deep love and close relationship with his grandchildren, Randall, Michael, Stephanie, Danielle, Bradley, Brian, and Kristopher, as well as his great grandchildren Caleb, Paige, Logan, Justin, Alexia, and Adrianna. It gave him great joy to share time with each one of them and show them something fun, new, and full of adventure. Dan was a long-time member of Millwood Presbyterian Church, always trusting in the Lord and His Grace. He was a salesman by trade but was also a home builder and a member of the Home Builders Association. He was proud of his time spent as an active member in Kiwanis and the Eagles. Dan is survived by his loving wife, 3 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and close friend and cousin, Peggy, as well as many friends. Our hearts are heavy from the loss of this great man in our lives.
