Chad Richard Juhnke

Chad Richard Juhnke passed away, unexpectedly on Saturday March 30th. He was born in Livingston to Richard and Jean (Crosby) Juhnke on December 22, 1965. He was raised in Livingston and during high school he worked at KPRK radio station. He graduated from Park High School in 1984 and shortly thereafter moved to Spokane to attend the Ron Bailey School of Broadcast. After graduation he moved to Bozeman, Montana where he met his future wife, Rebecca Ann Young. Chad and Becky moved to Spokane, where they married in July 1998. They have two children, Kailub Sebastian enrolled in the U.S. Marine Corps, and Darian Korynn of the family home. For the last 18 years he worked for his brother at Auto Glass Express.

Chad was a huge sports fan, especially of the Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics, and New York Yankees, and he loved nothing more than to watch and cheer for his children at their sporting events. He had a knack for memorizing stats, which earned him the nickname and role of “stats guy” for his son’s soccer team. He also loved to eat and would try anything, but did not like yogurt. Chad was still a kid at heart, which was evident whenever he was around little kids.

Chad was a funny, light-hearted man who will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. His mother, Jean White, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife and children; his father; his brothers Corey (Kim) Juhnke, Dustyn Guilford, and Justyn Guilford; his sisters Shellee Dunlap, and Jodee (Carlos) Gutierrez and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and life-long friends.

A celebration of Chad’s life will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 3pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd. in Spokane Valley, Washington. Because Chad had a laid-back, informal nature, the family encourages attendees to dress casually, and sports enthusiasts are welcome to wear their favorite team’s attire as a tribute to Chad’s passion for sports. A remembrance will be held in Livingston, Montana at a date to be announced this summer.

For those wishing to make a donation, Chad was a supporter of the Susan G. Komen foundation because of his mother’s battle with breast cancer; he shared his wife’s passion for children with special needs and supported the Special Olympics and Wishing Star; and the American Heart Association are suggested.
