Carl Adolph Sandaker

Carl Adolph Sandaker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024 at 7:39 PM, at the age of 90. Born on November 11, 1934 in Moscow, Idaho, Carl was the eldest of two children and was adopted by Adolph and Mary Sandaker when he was

5 1/2. He spent his early years in Coeur d'Alene, ID, where he developed a love of math and mechanical design.

After high school Carl was drafted into the Army where he served as an MP until he was honorably discharged in 1959.

Carl attended WSU and studied mechanical engineering. He worked for Boeing, R.A. Hanson Co. and went on to get his journeyman's license as an electrician and worked for Power City Electric in Spokane until his retirement.

Carl was very active in the LDS Church, and he would help anyone who asked for his help as he was a Jack of all Trades and loved a challenge.

In 1965, Carl married the love of his life, Dorothy Aldeen Durham. Together they created a home in Montrose, Colorado, where they raised their 3 boys, Charles Adolph, Martin Carl, and Rondell Leroy. When the boys were teenagers the family moved to Spokane, WA where Carl and Dorothy celebrated 52 years of marriage and upon her passing in 2017, he lived out the rest of his days with his extended family.

He is survived by his children, Charles Sandaker, Martin (Susan) Sandaker, and Rondell (Ramona) Sandaker; and his grandchildren, Aaron, Leslie (Justin), Cassandra and Steven and Great Grandson Andrew. He is also survived by numerous extended family members on both sides.

He was also preceded in death by his brother David and his adoptive parents Adolph and Mary and many family members.

Funeral Services will be held at the Belle Terre Ward at 13608 E. Belle Terre Ave., Spokane Valley, WA on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM with interment at Riverview Cemetery, 1001 Lincoln Way, Coeur d'Alene, ID to follow.
