She was Clarence and Carries’s 9th child. Later, her mother remarried and gave Ann 3 half siblings. Ann married in December of 1935 at the age of 16 to George Babb. They began their married life in Spokane, but divorced three and a half years later. She then married Elbert Hampton on October 8th, 1942. Their marriage began in Conconully, WA, later moving to Mineral, WA. On March 16, 1946, Ann and Elbert adopted an 11 month old son, Robert Eugene Hampton. Ann made a home in multiple places in the western part of the country such as Morton, WA, Okanogan, WA, Newman Lake WA, Grants Pass, OR, Rohnerville, CA, and many other places. Her last place of residence was Spokane, WA where she had lived since 1971. Ann was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Spokane Valley since November of 1973, where she participated in the church choir. Ann was a woman of devoted faith, who was a loving wife and homemaker. She was a doting mother to her son, Bobbi, and a few foster children she took in over the years. She opened her home to care for many elderly women and participated in nursing home ministry. Ann had a family of friends, each one a treasure close to her heart. No one could match Ann’s devotion as a pen pal. Ann was a talented seamstress, crocheter, embroiderer, and knitter. She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, singing Gospel hymns, and sharing her love of the Bible. She is preceded in death by both her parents and all her siblings, her husband, Elbert, in 1993, and son, Bobbi, in 2003. Ann is survived by her grandsons’ Shawn (Charity) Hampton of Glenoma, Ryan Hampton of Randle, two great granddaughters, Elexcious and Emarey of Glenoma, and a great grandson, Briar from Rochester.
