Michael Dennis Walker walked this earth for 42 years and touched the lives of many.
As a young man, he developed a passion for baseball, football, hunting, fishing, boating, and above all family. He pursued these passions on the sporting fields, woods, lakes, streams, and in a home filled with love in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey.
He graduated from Jefferson Township High School with the class of 2000 and was admitted to the College of New Jersey with early acceptance. He studied business, developed many lifelong friendships, and graduated with a degree that would propel him into a fruitful career.
Mike quickly found employment in the insurance world of Manhattan and moved to the big city to pursue his future in the industry. He found success, impressed many, and forged unshakable relationships that often reached far beyond the professional and well into deep, personal bonds.
He met Jessica, married, and settled into the Upper East Side. Mike and Jessica left the city for Hoboken, made their home, and were blessed with the birth of their daughter Evelyn Alice. Evelyn instantly became his world. The family met their first major challenge when their Hoboken home was lost to a fire. Mike stood on the sidewalk and saw all his worldly possessions lying in smoldering ruins.
This setback was a mere stumble, and not long after the flames were extinguished Mike achieved his life’s greatest accomplishment: creating his own home filled with love in River Edge, New Jersey. Here he put down roots, continued to pursue his passions, and developed even more lifelong friendships.
He meant so much to so many, and those who knew him cherish memories of his kindness, selflessness, and caring nature as we mourn his loss.
Mike is survived by his mother and father, Kathleen and Dennis Walker, wife, Jessica Walker, daughter Evelyn Walker, brothers, Daniel (Tara) and Stephen (Kate) Walker, and nephews, Mateo Walker and Nolan Walker.
