Maria was born on 09.08.1944, on a farm outside of Salzburg. Though she may have been born in Austria, everyone knew she was 100% Ukrainian and proud, and even more proud to be an American.
She and her late Husband Boris Kuchtyn met in Venezuela and married in Venezuela, May 1962. They won the green card lottery and arrived at JFK Feb 1963, 8 months pregnant with her first child, Elizabeth, followed by Boris, Katherine and Dimitrio. A proud grandmother of Boris Thomas, Tyler Franklin and Riley James, Mason Dean.
Maria loved the Church and instilled its values. She was a proud member of Holy Spirit Orthodox Church.
She was an avid reader and loved to do embroidery, Maria was always happy and did her best to keep the family close. Gardening was also a passion of hers.
Funeral Service will be held at Holy Spirit Orthodox Church in Wantage, NJ on Thursday October 17, at 11:00 with viewing beginning at 10am.
Maria’s children are inviting everyone attending to a family style luncheon at Holy Spirit Orthodox Church. 102 Route 284, Wantage NJ, following the cemetery services in Fairview Cemetery, also in Wantage. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Holy Spirit Orthodox Church.
