Born and raised in Nanticoke, Pa. She moved to Sparta in 1967 upon marriage to her late husband Joseph. Dottie graduated as an RN from Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing. She also received a B.S. in Nursing Education from Wilkes University.
As her children got older Dottie resumed her nursing career at Newton hospital. She was a school nurse in the Sparta schools and at Bell Labs. She became a nurse manager at Med Alert Ambulance where she became and E.M.T. Driving an ambulance was the highlight of her career.
Dottie was a member of our Lady of the Lake Church where she was the secretary of the Rosary Society. She was also a Den Mother of pack 80at the church. She was a member or the Newton Red Hat Society. Dottie was active in the Home Economic Department of the Sussex County Fair. She won many ribbons including best of show. Later she became a judge of the Home Economic show and to her this was an honor, took pride in this early event.
Dottie traveled extensively with family and friends through the Untied States and Europe. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her greatest gift to her boys was her strength; independent spirit and her unconditional love. She was “Bacia” to Conner and Ryan and they could do no wrong. Despite her health problems she always had a positive attitude.
Dottie was preceded by her husband Joe, her parents Michael and Lottie (Koscinski) Kedda and her brothers Leonard, Edward, and Henry (Buggs) Kedda. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Stephen, grandchildren Connor and Ryan and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 4PM to 7PM at Goble Funeral Home, Sparta NJ. A mass of Christian burial will be 11AM Thursday, May 26 at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sparta, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
