Mr. Chase was born January 29, 1936 in Martinsburg, West Virginia to the late Cecil and Hazel Baker Chase. He was a veteran of the US Army and had a successful career with BF Goodrich as a regional manager for 25 years. Mr. Chase then worked as a real estate broker for over 20 years in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina until his retirement in 2008. He lovingly raised his family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania where he was an active member of Northampton Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and head usher. Following a visit to the picturesque community of Southport, Mr. Chase and his wife decided the small town atmosphere was perfect for being closer to their children and most importantly each other. After moving to Southport, Mr. Chase became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a wealth of knowledge, had an astute sense of humor, an avid history buff and loved gardening. Mr. Chase was a good friend to all, the best dad ever and as everyone knows, passionately devoted to the love of his life, Betty.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Betty W. Chase; daughter Susan D. Chase of Charlotte; two sons William B. Chase and wife Sandra of Tampa, Florida and Michael A. Chase and wife Caroline of Charlotte; two sisters, Annette Ambler and husband John of Wilton, Connecticut and Ann Deits of Marietta, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Michael William Chase, Brandon Tyler Chase, Logan Catherine Chase, William Coleman Chase, and Trevor Cecil Chase.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 am.
