Mark entered this earthly life on August 13th, 1952 in Chillicothe, Ohio born to the late Earl and Mary (Sowers) Lutz. Although Mark lived most of his life in Circleville, Ohio 8 years ago he relocated to Oak Island to live out his dream of being at the beach.
He is survived by his two sons Jesse Lutz and Andy (Stevie) Lutz, grandchildren Bryton and Elliott. His loving partner of many years Tanya Hart and daughters Keisha and Corrine Ryan, grandbabies Brantley, AnnaLynn and Leena who affectionately called him “Poppy”.
He was the best Poppy, partner, Dad, and friend all could have asked for. Mark had a deep passion for helping people and had worked over the last 20 years in addiction recovery. His big infectious laugh was as uplifting as his raspy deep voice and his keen sarcastic wit. We often joked that he should have been in radio with that voice and his uncanny ability of reeling you into a great story. Mark has touched so many lives over the years personally and professionally it would be impossible to capture his beautiful essence in these few written words. He lived his life through the twinkling eyes of wonder and the thrill of an adventure, always getting some naughty enjoyment from pushing the limits just a bit all while trying to goad you along because it’s a great idea! Mark loved movies, music and art and his mind was an endless fountain of knowledge which he enjoyed sharing with others. Nothing can fill the void his absence has left for all that loved him so we will honor him through peace and love as we try to move forward in this space without him. Always close to our hearts and grateful for the wonderful life we shared. Every time we see a box, we will hear you say, “that’s a nice box babe”! We Love You Mark and until we see each other again help us “Keep it Simple”.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Oak Island on a later date.
