Mr. Hickman was born July 31, 1935 in Brunswick County to the late Joseph and Alma Hickman. He was a veteran of the US Army and was preceded in death by a brother George Hickman; and two sisters Myrtise McDowell and Lila Joan “Tiny” Hickman.
Surviving is his wife Anna Belle Hickman, three brothers William Hickman and wife Louise of Concord, Jacob Hickman and wife Carol of Lake Waccamaw, and Thomas Hickman of Wilmington; three sisters, Julia Cordes of Wilmington, Delores Garland of Jamestown, and Ruth Harrison of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Anthony Clemmons and Reverend Ronald Long officiating.
