Heather Meredith Gulledge

She was born August 28, 1970, in Fayetteville, NC, to the late Stephen Foster Gulledge and Sue Jones Shaw of Covington, LA. She graduated from Winston-Salem State University. She began her career in education in North Carolina before settling as an English Language Arts teacher in St. Tammany Parish, LA, where she was "Teacher of the Year" multiple times.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her four children, Tiffany Marie Strickland and husband, Timothy Strickland, Jerry Michael Maggard, Summer Brea Pierce, and Alyssa Raven Pierce; four grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor, Dominic, and Owen; a brother, Joel Stephen Gulledge; a sister, Kelly Suzanne Shaw; two nieces, and cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Heather was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with her family. She had two Boston Terriers that she loved; and in her leisure, she liked to sing karaoke, cross-stitch, play bingo, and sunbathe.

A Celebration of Life will be held between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Please RSVP to Alyssa Pierce at 985-251-8022.
