He was born May 25, 1948 in Transylvania County, NC; a son of the late Fred Alfonzo and Exie Barton Houck. Mr. Houck was an avid fisherman, golfer, and hunter, and enjoyed restoring antiques, he loved to cook and entertain family and friends and he loved everyone, never meet a stranger, and had a passion for traveling as well.
Survivors includes his loving wife; Judy Ledbetter Houck, of Southport; two sons Michael Brandon Houck wife Paula, Wayne McPeters all of Marion, NC; one daughter Annette McPeters Abbott and husband David of Southport; sister Gayle Hoverson of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren; Eli and Isaac Houck and Macy McPeters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Houck.
