Nancy Mastrianni

She was born on August 12, 1952 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Robert and Marjorie (Watkins) Soden. Nancy received her BS degree in Education from Leslie College in Cambridge, MA. She taught in the Newington Public School System for 2 years before joining The Travelers Insurance Co. in Hartford as a Pension Valuation Analyst. Nancy left work for several years to help raise her children and then continued her career at Hooker and Holcombe in West Hartford until she retired.

For many years she spent endless hours crafting a variety of items, especially quilts, with her dear friends Sue Pepe and Gail Verderame,The Grateful Threads Quilt Group at First Congregational Church of Southington and others. If you’re one of the many friends and family blessed by a handcrafted gift from Nancy, hold it in your hands and remember the love that made it.

In addition to her husband David, she leaves a son Craig Mastrianni and wife Crystal of Middletown and a daughter Jill Peters and husband Brian of Granby and two grandchildren Eva Peters and Evan Peters, she also leaves two sisters Robin Diorio of Winsted and Cathy Rotondo and husband James of Castleton, VT.

Memorial calling hours will be on Tuesday, Dec 13th from 9-11am with a service at 11 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Dec. 17th at 2 pm at the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St. Southington.
